I tried to remain optimistic when word got out that X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE was undergoing reshoots in Vancouver. Hugh Jackman checked in himself to say it was all part of the plan and it was all weather-related stuff. But now we hear news, courtesy of IESB, that a good portion of the new footage centered around Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). I don’t know about you but the one thing I’m pretty sure a Wolverine movie doesn’t need more of is Deadpool. That’s just me. It’s a Wolverine movie and if Deadpool wants to do a quick cameo that’s fine with me but I’d much prefer the action center on Wolvie himself, no? I mean it’s HIS origin story. My major problem with X-MEN 3 was that they were just dumping mutant cameos in there for the sake of winking to the fans. And ultimately while that might make a decent trailer, it won’t necessarily make a great movie. Now I’m certainly not ready to write off the movie and we haven’t heard any confirmation that this news of more Deadpool is true. But I don’t like the sound of it if it is.
