Dark Skies Keri Russell

Last month, we shared a batch of images that gave an intriguing glimpse behind the scenes of the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror film ANTLERS. Filming on ANTLERS wrapped at the end of November, but the film's official Instagram account continued posting behind the scenes pictures into December – and those remaining images can now be seen below.

ANTLERS marks the horror debut of director Scott Cooper, whose previous credits include OUT OF THE FURNACE and BLACK MASS. Written by Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson with revisions by Cooper, the screenplay is based on Antosca's short story The Quiet Boy.

Keri Russell (pictured above in DARK SKIES) stars in the film alongside Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Greene, Amy Madigan, Scott Haze, and Rory Cochrane. The story centers on

a small-town Oregon teacher (Russell) and her brother (Plemons), the local sheriff, who become entwined with a young student (Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

The most interesting images below feature a blurry monster, a creepy kid, and a shot of Russell's character screaming in bed.

J. Miles Dale and David S. Goyer produced ANTLERS with del Toro. Fox Searchlight has not yet announced when they plan to release the film.

I'm very interested to see how ANTLERS turns out and to see what a Cooper-directed horror film will be like… Although I'm not sure any supernatural creature could be as unnerving as Johnny Depp's performance as real world crime boss Whitey Bulger in BLACK MASS.
