More join Kate Beckinsale in the cast of Underworld 5 as filming commences

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment have announced that principal photography has officially begun on UNDERWORLD 5, with WHITE HOUSE DOWN cinematographer Anna Foerster taking the helm to make her feature directorial debut. The movie will be filming in and around Prague for the next ten weeks.

As already confirmed, Kate Beckinsale will be reprising her role as vampiric "Death Dealer" Selene, with Theo James returning as her ally David and franchise newcomers Tobias Menzies, Bradley James, and Clementine Nicholson joining in as the leader of the Lycans, a villain, and a Nordic warrior, respectively.

Along with the production announcement comes a bit of fresh casting news, as the press release reveals that previously announced cast member Lara Pulver will be playing a "fiercely ambitious vampire", and that Charles Dance will be returning as vampire Covenmaster Thomas. Also on board in unspecified roles are James Faulkner, Peter Andersson, and Daisy Head (pictured below).

The screenplay for UNDERWORLD 5 was written by Cory Goodman (PRIEST, this weekend's THE LAST WITCH HUNTER), and while a synopsis hasn't been made available, I'm sure you know what you're in for if you've seen the previous UNDERWORLD movies: more action sequences involving gun-toting vampires fighting werewolves.

UNDERWORLD 5 is scheduled to reach theatres on October 21, 2016.
