Adorable cinematic Columbian drug mule Catalina Sandino Moreno has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s diptych exploring the life of Communist revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara, joining Benicio Del Toro as Guevara and an international cast which includes Julia Ormond, Franka Potente, Jorge Perugorria, and Spanish actors Jordi Molla, Oscar Jaenada, Eduard Fernandez and Ruben Ochandiano. The films are named THE ARGENTINE and GUERILLA and from that, it’s clear they’ll showcase Guevara’s life from wide-eyed Argentine med student to rabid left wing revolutionary. Moreno’s role is currently unknown but it’s an almost certainty she’ll be adorable in it. Principal photography is scheduled for July 25th in Spain. Moreno can next be seen in the Ethan Hawke directed drama THE HOTTEST STATE and the Mike Newell directed romantic drama LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA.
