So this is cool! Arrow-in-the-Head's own JimmyO interviews stars Ludi Lin and Max Huang (a.k.a. Liu Kang and Kung Lao) for the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, which you can check out at the top of the article!
Here's the official synopsis:
A washed-up mixed martial arts fighter named Cole Young is unaware of his hidden lineage or why he is being hunted down by Sub-Zero of the Lin-Kuei clan of assassins. Concerned for the safety of his family, he seeks out a clique of fighters that were chosen to defend Earthrealm in a high-stakes battle against the forces of Outworld in a inter-dimensional fighting tournament that occurs once in a generation. Appearances to be made by Shang Tsung, Goro, Jax Briggs, Sonya Blade, Kano, Scorpion and more fan favorites!
Honestly, it's pretty cool to see how excited everyone is for the project, and how obvious of fans they are (and how dedicated, vis-a-vis the fighting and stunts as well!) So, even if the film ends up being a disappointment, it looks like it won't be from lack of trying!
Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat – directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim, Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee, Hiroyuki Sanada – will get over here to theaters and HBO Max April 23rd!
