Avatar Sequel Shares Huge Photo of the Set

Even though it's still two years away, James Cameron's AVATAR sequel is doing its darndest to keep the hype train chugging along! The sequel just wrapped shooting… for 2019. See, there's still much more shooting to be done, just none in 2019. Didn't want to sound misleading. To commemorate the 2019 wrap, AVATAR's Twitter page shared a pic of the gigantic set where the father of the TERMINATOR was working his magic! Have a look:

I'm not entirely sure what is all going on in that pic (guessing there's a TON of CGI yet to be added), but it is very cool getting a peak behind the wizard's curtain! I do trust in James Cameron, but I'm just not too hyped for more AVATAR. 2009 was a decade ago and I'm just curious how you all feel about getting the first sequel 11 years later. However, once that sequel hits, look out! Because we are going to be on AVATAR overload from then on out! AVATAR 2 hits theaters on December 17, 2021. Meanwhile, AVATAR 3 is slated for a December 22, 2023 debut. AVATAR 4 will open two years after that, on December 19, 2025, while AVATAR 5 is scheduled for a December 17, 2027 release. This is an ambitious release schedule for sure, and it's worth noting that AVATAR 4 and 5 will only come to theaters if AVATAR 2 and 3 are successful.

Returning for the sequel are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver. Joining them as part of the extended AVATAR cast are Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Vin Diesel, Jermaine Clement, Michelle Yeoh and Oona Chaplin.
