Brian Tyree Henry, Joker, A Quiet Place 2

After breaking out in a big way thanks to his role on FX's Atlanta, we've been seeing plenty of Brian Tyree Henry thanks to his roles in HOTEL ARTEMIS, WHITE BOY RICK, WIDOWS, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, and SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE, and the actor is still keeping extremely busy with CHILD'S PLAY, THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, GODZILLA VS. KONG, and A QUIET PLACE 2 on his upcoming slate.

While speaking with The Observer, Henry dropped a few teases regarding several of those upcoming films, including JOKER and A QUIET PLACE 2. As the upcoming Todd Phillips film will present us with the latest in the long line of live-action Jokers, Henry was asked what separates this new Joker story from its predecessors.

I think it’s going to be very different because it really goes into just the origin story. Villains are never born that way, they’re made. There’s something that happens in their lives that they give up their faith in humanity; they see the flaws of humanity and mankind and feel like they must correct it. And what happens with Joker is you start to see how he really was a happy person. He really was trying to find this…hope in humanity until it broke him down and he just had to give up and reshape it.

"Also, there’s going to be a connection [made] about a boy and his mother," Henry continued. "That is another thing that you’re going to seethat he was capable of love at some point. But, at the end of the day, I think it’s all about how he was made that way, how he didn’t start being that kind of person."

Brian Tyree Henry also recently entered talks to join the cast of A QUIET PLACE 2, and while his character and much of the plot is being kept under wraps, the actor teased what fans can expect from the sequel. "I really think that what we’ll do is we’ll see more of that family continuing to survive and finding out that they’re not the only ones. And I think that we’re also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened," Henry explained. "I think that people want to know that. But I think you’re just going to see another side of it…more of humanity that survived this thing in this next story."

JOKER is set for a October 4, 2019 release, while A QUIET PLACE 2 will hit theaters on May 15, 2020.
