How about a comic book adaptation that doesn’t have to do with superheroes?
According to Deadline, Fox Searchlight is looking to bring Daniel Clowes’ graphic novel WILSON to the big screen. Clowes will reportedly adapt the screenplay himself as a potential directing vehicle for the very appropriate Alexander Payne (THE DESCENDANTS, SIDEWAYS).
The skinny on the comic, per Deadline: “Wilson tells the story of an opinionated middle-aged loner who loves his dog and maybe nobody else and who begins a quest to find human connection with his ex-wife.”
You may recall Clowes’ name from a couple of other graphic novel-turned-films: GHOST WORLD and ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL, adaptations of which were also penned by Clowes and directed by BAD SANTA helmer Terry Zwigoff.
