It’s Andy Samberg vrs. Kit Harington in HBO’s tennis comedy 7 Days in Hell

For those of you who dig your Christopher Guest-esque mockumentaries, HBO has you covered! Coming to HBO on July 11th is 7 DAYS IN HELL, a fictional documentary-style expose that covers the rivalry between two tennis stars who battled it out in a 2004 match that lasted seven days. The players in question are Aaron Williams and Charles Poole, played by Andy Samberg and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones' Jon Snow), respectively. You can check out a preview of the event below.

I wish the trailer gave us some interviews with the tennis stars in question so we could get a sense of their characters, but I love the idea of Kit Harington going against type to deliver some comedy. The feature has no shortage of other stars, including the likes of Karen Gillan, Lena Dunham, Michael Sheen, Mary Steenburgen, Will Forte, Howie Mandel and Fred Armisen, to name a few. Sporting events are ripe for mining some great jokes so I'm hoping this is more BEST IN SHOW than SEMI-PRO.

7 DAYS IN HELL will air at 10pm on July 11th exclusively on HBO.
