The third season of Netflix's You will feature Animal Kingdom alum, Scott Speedman, in a major recurring role that is bound to excite fans of the popular Netflix series.
Speedman is set to play Matthew, who is described as "a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father. He’s reserved, at times mysterious, and has a tendency to be withdrawn, all of which masks a deep well of emotion underneath." Judging from that character description, I'm sure he'll be an interesting addition to a show that already has a majorly complex character in Penn Badgley's Joe.
Speedman becomes the latest major casting for the third season of You after new series regulars Travis Van Winkle and Shalita Grant. For Speedman's part, the actor recently wrapped production on Lina Roessler’s directorial debut BEST SELLERS, starring opposite Aubrey Plaza and Michael Caine and he last starred opposite Ellen Barkin on TNT’s Animal Kingdom.
You's first season was based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and followed Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and quickly develops an extreme, toxic and delusional obsession with her. Season two follows Joe on his move to Los Angeles where he falls in love with a local heiress named Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) but the same toxic extremes that Joe is willing to go to prove to not be left in New York with his past.
