Official Force Awakens poster reported to hit Sunday; new trailer on Monday

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Fans have been waiting patiently for the new trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, and it looks like that patience will finally pay off after this weekend! You’ve probably noticed that almost every news source has reported a probable October 19th premiere date for the latest trailer (even in our weekly Star Wars video column, of which you can see below), but now it looks like we may have some specifics for you.

The good folks over at io9 have a few sources delivering exact times for when everything will make its way online, so I’ll relay the information. This Sunday morning, the official one-sheet for THE FORCE AWAKENS is said to hit. No doubt around that time we’ll receive official word about the trailer being released the following day. Then come Monday, October 19th, the new (and most likely final) FORCE AWAKENS trailer will be available around 8:00pm (EST). A half-hour later, theater tickets will go on sale.

J.J. Abrams and crew have been very good at assembling teasers that give away very little, yet do very well in ramping up excitment for the new STAR WARS flick. It goes without saying that a wealth of new information and images will coincide with the trailer in order to attract everyone else in the galaxy that’s not a die-hard fan. At this point, I’m not sure that’s necessary, but I’m not going to complain! Stay tuned as we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with the latest news as it hits!

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
