Someone cue Peter Rutcho's Original Ghostbusters Theme Song and break out your dancing shoes because Marvel alum and ageless Hollywood wonder, Paul Rudd, is joining the cast of Jason Reitman's UNTITLED GHOSTBUSTERS PROJECT!

News of Rudd joining the cast of Reitman's not-so-secret paranormal picture first arrived by way of Variety, who says that the ANT-MAN actor is in final negotiations to star alongside Carrie Coon (THE POST, GONE GIRL), Finn Wolfhard (STRANGER THINGS, IT) and McKenna Grace (CAPTAIN MARVEL, THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE) for the mysterious Ghostbusters experience.

Expected to return to the franchise to reprise their iconic roles for Reitman's film are Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett and Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond Stantz, with Annie Potts and Bill Murray rumored to board the pic as Janine Melnitz and Peter Venkman, respectively.

Jason Reitman will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Gil Kenan with plans to roll cameras later this summer for a 2020 release.

Shortly after Variety's article went live, the official GHOSTBUSTERS YouTube page released a video that revealed Rudd's involvement:

In the video, Rudd speaks about his own GHOSTBUSTERS fandom, before announcing to the world that he ain't afraid of no ghosts, and that he's ready to give them what for when Reitman's film apparates into cinemas next summer.

"When I heard that Jason Reitman was going to be doing a new version in the fall, and my agents called him and said 'Hey Jason, we hear there's a part of a young … semi-young, strapping man that needs to be cast, who you gonna call?' When I heard they were gonna call me, well, you can imagine, I nearly slimed myself. I can't wait to join the cast this fall for Ghostbusters. In fact I'm sliming myself right now," Rudd said while flashing the camera a devilish grin.

According to sources, Rudd will play a teacher in the film.

Produced by Ivan Reitman, the much-anticipated motion picture is said to focus on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

Jason Reitman's UNTITLED GHOSTBUSTERS PROJECT is set to haunt theaters on July 10, 2020.
