Schwarzenegger is back with guns blazing in Terminator: Dark Fate image

If you just watched the first trailer for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE then you know it was all about Mackenzie Davis, Linda Hamilton and Gabriel Luna hunting them down. There was only a brief amount of time dedicated to former Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger, although he does manages to own the cool-as-ice stare. But for anyone hoping to see him back in action then a new image has dropped on the liquid metal heels of the new trailer, showing Arnold doing what he does best: Emerging out of a van and firing a gun large enough to kill a T-Rex.

The new image comes from Empire and, well, that’s about all there is to explain about it. He’s there, he’s firing a gun at something, perhaps last minute to save the day and we can only speculate alongside Linda Hamilton in an Avengers-level epic team-up.

Past images have shown Schwarzenegger returning to the series in a much different way than he did in the past. Often cloaked in some sort of leather outfit and stomping toward whomever he wanted to kill with steely, unflinching drive, here he’s more weathered and spends a lot of time at his cabin in the woods and, I don’t, foraging for things?

The events of DARK FATE seem very much focused on the new cast of actors, with Hamilton and Schwarzenegger taking a back seat but still having key roles. Based on the trailer it seems the latter is in the movie for less time than the former, but at the very least he gets the opportunity to lay some fools out and prove he can still get the job done all these years later. Time to stop foraging, sir; the world is in need of your skills. 

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is in theaters November 1.
