Ladies and gentlemen, we now have the title for the next installment of Star Wars. STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS. Posted with almost no notice on their official site and Facebook page (as if they need one), this awakening could be a reference to a few things (for those of you up to date on your SW rumors) but also works in a meta sense, given that when it comes to all things Disney and Star Wars . . . this is just the beginning.

THE FORCE AWAKENS will of course see actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow star alongside returning members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker with a script by Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams, to be directed by Abrams. The Force is not the only thing being awakened today, as is the excitement of millions of fans. Bring it, Abrams!

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS will hit theaters December 18, 2015.
