Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Ever wondered how many people lose their lives in any particular movie, be it action, horror, sci-fi, or even comedy? Well, we've got you covered with THE KILL COUNTER, our hit new series takes out all of the guesswork and counts out each and every death on (and sometimes off) screen.

Break out your calculator and try to keep up! On this week's episode, we're taking on a classic with director Paul Verhoeven's ultra-violent sci-fi action movie TOTAL RECALL starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, and Ronny Cox.

Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a bored construction worker in the year 2084 who dreams of visiting the colonized Mars. He visits "Rekall," a company that plants false memories into people's brains, in order to experience the thrill of Mars without having to travel there. But something goes wrong during the procedure; Quaid discovers that his entire life is actually a false memory and that the people who implanted it in his head now want him dead.

The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid, Sharon Stone as Lori Quaid, Ronny Cox as Vilos Cohaagen, Michael Ironside as Richter, Mel Johnson Jr. as Benny, Marshall Bell as George and as the voice of Kuato, Roy Brocksmith as Dr. Edgemar, Michael Champion as Helm, Dean Norris as Tony, Debbie Lee Carrington as Thumbelina, and Lycia Naff as Mary the Three-Breasted prostitute.

TOTAL RECALL is directed by Paul Verhoeven (ROBOCOP, STARSHIP TROOPERS) from a screenplay written by Ronald Shusett, Dan O'Bannon, and Gary Goldman based on a story by Shusett, O'Bannon, and Jon Povill based on "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Buzz Feitshans and Ronald Shusett produced and Jerry Goldsmith proved the epic score. It was released on June 1, 1990.
