If you grew up in the '80s or '90s, chances are quite good that you or your friends had at least one Transformers figure, but did it TRANSFORM ITSELF?! I think not. Robosen Robotics, in collaboration with Hasbro, have introduced an interactive, programmable, voice-activated, mobile controlled Optimus Prime Robot that is auto-converting. You'll be able to bring Optimus Prime to life "with a fully immersive experience through voice activated actions, mobile app controls, and endless hours of creative and fun ways to program Optimus Prime to walk, punch, blast, drive, and convert at the swipe of your finger, or command of your voice."

Standing at 19" tall when in robot mode, the Optimus Prime figure comes with 80 sound effects, including voice clips from Peter Cullen, and has been assembled from over 5000 components, 60 microchips, and 27 servo-motors. Optimus Prime will also respond to 25 voice-activated commands, and you'll be able to program and customize the figure through the mobile app. Optimus Prime is now available to pre-order for $699. Not exactly a small chunk of change, but you've got to admit… it's pretty damn cool.

As far as the future of the Transformers franchise on the big-screen goes, there are several projects in development, including a film to be directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) with Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) in final negotiations to star in the film. There's also another Transformers film in the works from Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) with Marco Ramirez penning the script.
