Daywalker vs Death Dealer. It's a match made in skin-tight leather heaven. Although Blade is set to be rebooted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's doubtful that another Underworld movie will be made, Kate Beckinsale would jump at the chance to step into Selene's black leather pants once again if she could share the screen with Blade.

At the premiere of his new thriller Jolt, Kate Beckinsale told Variety how much she wanted an Underworld-Blade crossover, but unfortunately, the studios weren't keen on the idea.

I really wanted them to do an ‘Underworld’-‘Blade’ mashup. What a duo that would be. I would definitely do that, but I think they just wanted to reboot ‘Blade’ as ‘Blade’ so they didn’t go for it.

Should such a day ever come to pass in future, Kate Beckinsale is more than ready; in fact, she still have a pair of those black leather pants at home. "I know exactly where they are," she said. "You never know who you want to impress." Kate Beckinsale last played Selene in Underworld: Blood Wars in 2016, and although there doesn't seem to be another Underworld movie on the horizon, franchise co-creator Len Wiseman was developing an Underworld TV series, but we haven't heard all that much about the project in recent years.

As for Blade, it was revealed two years ago (on this very day in fact) that Mahershala Ali would be playing the Daywalker for Marvel Studios. It was announced earlier this year that Stacy Osei-Kuffour, who worked as a story editor and writer on HBO's Watchmen series, had been tapped to write the Blade reboot for Marvel Studios, and the project may also have a director as Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) is currently in talks to direct the film. Production on Blade isn't expected to get underway until July 2022.
