We talk Cobra Kai Season 3 & more with William Zabka, Ralph Macchio & more

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

One of the most unexpectedly awesome shows on TV (or streaming, if you will) is Cobra Kai, a spinoff/follow up of 1984's THE KARATE KID (as well as any of the Karate Kid movies that feature Mr. Miyagi), which follows former karate rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) as they rekindle their old rivalry and find their legacies being affected in the process. Johnny begins training a local kid, Miguel Diaz (Xolo Mariduena) after restarting his old dojo, Cobra Kai, while Daniel begins training Johnny's estranged son, Robby (Tanner Buchanan), as well as his own daughter, Samantha (Mary Mouser). Enter John Kreese (Martin Kove), the former sensei of Cobra Kai to throw everyone's world upside down. It's an absolute nostalgic rollercoaster with laughs, emotions and some genuine kick-ass action, all in the hands of showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg, who have made the best fan fiction show of all time.

While at Comic Con, we had the opportunity to talk with the showrunners and stars of the series, where they talked about the events of season 2 and where they plan to go in season 3 (Macchio reveals that Daniel will be going back to Okinawa), addressing some of the many Easter Eggs dropped throughout the series, including whether or not we could see Elizabeth Shue return as Ali, if there's an endgame to the whole saga and just how the kids will find themselves not completely expelled from school after the events of season 2.
