Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom gets a sweet poster!

A new poster for Wes Anderson’s MOONRISE KINGDOM has arrived and it’s every bit what you’d expect, which is to say it’s pretty sweet.  Anderson has a distinct visual style and narrative voice and his graphics and typography choices are every bit as distinct.

Take a look:

Here’s the synopsis:

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, the film follows a young boy and girl (Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) falling in love. When they are moved to run away together, various factions of the town mobilize to search for them and the town is turned upside down – which might not be such a bad thing.

Wes Anderson can be love/hate for some, but he definitely brings his own style and flavor to his films.  From RUSHMORE to THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS to THE DARJEELING LIMITED, Anderson has stayed true to his vision and crafted some quirky, offbeat, and sometimes emotional films.  For me, he’s one of the most original and consistent directors working today.

Also, Bill F*cking Murray.
