Choices I can get behind: Liman, Romanek, Mangold, and perhaps Padilha. To me, the story is really going to be the heart of this film. Wolverine goes through such a journey not only physically but emotionally. He has always had fond memories of his time in Japan and I think with the right script and director this could be something really worthwhile.
But this shortlist tells me that they may not be so worried about the story at hand which is loosely adapted from Frank Miller and Chris Claremont’s Wolverine series.
