MoviePass Films lands Bruce Willis for debut film 10 Minutes Gone

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Recently, MoviePass has found itself the subject of some unflattering articles related to a recent price-hike and content changes to their movie club service. While the jury is still out on the baffling move to charge more money for less content from the subscription-based ticket utility, MoviePass Films CEOs and Co-Founders Randall Emmett, George Furla, and Ted Farnsworth have announced that MoviePass Films has tapped Bruce Willis to star in 10 MINUTES GONE, an upcoming crime drama from director Brian A. Miller. For those of you who're scratching your heads about the MoviePass Films title, the studio is a newly established collaborative effort between MoviePass parent company Helios & Matheson Analytics and Emmett Furla's Oasis Films.

With a script written by Kelvin Mao (BLACKSTAR WARRIOR) and Jeff Jingle (Special effects tech on SURROGATES, SPECIES II, REAL STEEL), 10 MINUTES GONE follows a man who loses ten minutes of his memory due to being hit by a stray bullet during a bank heist gone wrong. He must put the pieces of his broken memory together in order to find out who sabotaged the job and took the money, all while being pursued by a powerful crime boss hellbent on recovering the cash.

According to Deadline, who broke the news on Monday, Willis will play the vengeful crime boss. Meanwhile, BOSS LEVEL's Meadow Williams will also star, and is set to be joined by Swen Temmel, Sergio Rizzuto and Tyler Jon Olson to polish off the cast. Producing 10 MINUTES GONE are Randall Emmett, George Furla, and Lydia Hull for MoviePass Films and Diamond Films Production. Executive producing are Ted Farnsworth, Mitch Lowe, Ted Fox, Mark Stewart, Arnaud Lannic, Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb.

While Willis is in no short supply of roles these days, it's worth noting that he's quite excited to be starring in 10 MINUTES GONE, as the LOOPER and DIE HARD actor has said that he was “excited to be working with producers Randall Emmett and George Furla again with their new venture MoviePass Films.”

While MoviePass holders continue to contemplate their membership in recent times, it stands to reason that MoviePass Films could be the future for the company. After all, Bruce Willis is a notable get, and should the movie prove to be a success, there's no telling what new projects could be waiting in the wings for the virgin studio. Perhaps they could even cut MoviePass holders a discount on their feature films, provided that the ticket broker is still in business when the film makes its debut? My magic eight ball says "Outlook Not So Good," but that thing has been wrong before.
