Ethan Hawke plays Ernst Toller, a man of God who is dealing with the loss of his son who dies in Iraq. He is then plunged deeper into despair and doubt when he’s asked by a woman, Mary (Amanda Seyfried), to help her husband, Michael (Philip Ettinger), who is a radical environmentalist.
