Mulder questions his beliefs in a new promo for The X-Files revival

It's only a few short months until The X-Files returns to television with six new episodes continuing the paranoid adventures of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). The new series wrapped up filming last month and the premiere of its first episode, My Struggle, was well received at both MIPCOM and NYCC. I can't wait to jump back into that amazing world Chris Carter created all those years ago, but in the meantime, a new promo has been released which gives us a small peek at some of the new monsters-of-the-week we can look forward to.

"What if our work, The X-Files, everything we've been led to believe in is a lie?"

This wouldn't be the first time that Mulder's belief in the paranormal has faltered, but it seems likely that The X-Files revival will be shaking up the series' mythology in a big way. Creator Chris Carter has said that the first and last episodes of the new series will be mythology based, while episodes two through five will consist of the more traditional monster-of-the-week episodes. Our own Eric Walkuski was on hand at NYCC to review the debut episode of the new series; he wasn't as thrilled with it as he had hoped he would be, but the opportunity to see Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny step back into the shoes of such iconic characters was well worth it.

A very familiar silhouette is featured in a new poster for the series; check it out below and don't forget, The X-Files returns to Fox on January 24, 2015!
