Oh, you weren’t tired of Harry Styles news? Well good thing because do we have a spitfire (ah, geez, sorry) trailer headed your way! The trailer for another upcoming movie of Harry Styles’, My Policeman, has arrived and it hints at what may be Styles’ most promising performance so far.

The trailer shows the relationship between police officer Tom (Harry Styles) and teacher Marion (Emma Corrin, who recently finished a tenure as Princess Diana on The Crown). It seems ideal until museum curator Patrick (David Dawson, BBC/Netflix’s The Last Kingdom) enters the picture, triggering a gay relationship between him and Tom.

Also featured are older versions of the characters, played by Linus Roache, Gina McKee and Rupert Everett, respectively. Cat Power’s cover of “Sea of Love” is wonderfully utilized throughout the trailer.

My Policeman has been in development since 2020, with Lily James originally set to co-star with Harry Styles. Corrin took her place early last year.

The plot of My Policeman: “A tale of forbidden romance and changing social conventions, My Policeman follows the relationships between three people—policeman Tom, teacher Marion and museum curator Patrick—and their emotional journey spanning decades.”

Based on the novel of the same name, My Policeman also marks Michael Grandage’s sophomore feature, following 2016’s Genius, starring Colin Firth as editor Max Perkins and Jude Law as writer Thomas Wolfe.

My Policeman will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It seems likely that My Policeman won’t be marred in the controversy surrounding Don’t Worry Darling, which had its headline-grabbing premiere at the Venice Film Festival this month.

The Policeman arrives in theaters on October 21. It will then go to Amazon Prime on November 4.

What are your thoughts on the trailer? Do you think My Police will feature Harry Styles’ most impressive performance to date?
