Naomi Watts crosses several lines in the first trailer for Netflix’s Gypsy

Doctor/Patient confidentiality is a sacred oath between two individuals that should never be broken, with exceptions being made for some of the most extreme of circumstances, of course. In Netflix's GYPSY, Naomi Watts is a well-to-do Manhattan therapist with a seemingly picturesque life and bustling therapy practice. Over the course of 10 episodes, she begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people closely connected to the patient's that walk through her door every day. As the borders of her professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds for her and those around her.

Today, we've got the official trailer for the Netflix psychological thriller to share with you. So go ahead, take a spot on the couch, press Play, and submit:

Directed by FIFTY SHADES OF GREY's Sam Taylor Johnson (among others), GYPSY stars Billy Crudup as Jean's husband Michael Holloway, Sophie Cookson (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE) as Sydney, Lucy Boynton (MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS) as Jean's patient Allison, Poorna Jagannathan(THE NIGHT OF) as Jean's coworker, and Karl Glusman (NOCTURNAL ANIMALS) as Jean's patient Sam. From the look of it, anyone under Holloway's guidance will have to start evaluating their own best interests, lest they want their lives to become as confusing and desperate as their dear doctor's.

The salacious series was filmed in New York and penned by Hollywood newcomer Lisa Rubin. GYPSY is produced by Working Titles' Liza Chasin, Lisa Rubin, Naomi Watts and Rudd Simmons in a partnership with Universal Television for Netflix. I can say with confidence that I won't be scheduling any time with Dr. Holloway, but for those who enjoy an intense narrative built on lies, misdirection, and broken promises, this show could be precisely what the doctor ordered.

GYPSY is set to premiere on Netflix beginning on June 30th worldwide.
