Prime Video Renews Neagley for Season 2 Following Massive Viewership Success

\Shortly after launching all eight episodes of its inaugural season, Amazon is renewing the Reacher spinoff, Neagley, for a second season! The first season of Neagley, starring Maria Sten as the titular character, debuted to an impressive 40 million viewers in its first 13 days, making it a hit right out of the gate.

According to Amazon, the series is the fourth most-viewed original series debut in Prime Video history and has achieved 52% of its viewership internationally. “When [Neagley] learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice,” reads the spinoff series’ official synopsis. Word of the renewal comes promptly after Amazon announced it is renewing Reacher for a sixth season, while the fifth is still in production.

From Book Pages to Prime-Time Powerhouse

First introduced in Lee Child’s 2002 novel Without Fail, Frances Neagley quickly established herself as the sharpest tool in Jack Reacher’s tactical shed. A former U.S. Army Master Sergeant and founding member of Reacher’s elite 110th Special Investigations Unit, Neagley is one of the few people on earth Reacher genuinely trusts and respects as an equal. What makes her character so captivating, both on the page and screen, is her fierce independence paired with her distinct haphephobia (a deep-seated aversion to physical contact). While Reacher wanders the country with nothing but a toothbrush, Neagley anchors herself as a formidable private investigator, bringing lethal efficiency and a dry wit to every case she touches.

Amazon Doubles Down on the Action

“Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios. “Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.”

Led by Sten, Neagley features Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman, with Alan Ritchson reprising his role as Jack Reacher as a guest star. With character-driven momentum and explosive viewership, Neagley’s solo beat is just getting started.

Confessions of a Recent Convert

I’ve recently started watching Reacher, and I can’t stop! I’m halfway through Season 3, and have enjoyed every big, dumb moment of the series. Alan Ritchson is fantastic as the hulking military detective, and Maria Sten as Neagley is a fantastic co-pilot for the violent, funny, and charming series. I’m excited to finish Reacher Season 4 before starting Neagley, and today’s news is just icing on the bloody sundae.
