While it hasn’t set the world on fire, ORPHAN is doing fairly well at the box office (for a genre film in the summer), and -perhaps more importantly – it’s pleased horror fans, more or less. Dark Castle must be happy, because it’s bringing back Jaume Collet-Serra to direct its next feature, entitled UNKNOWN WHITE MALE. Certified badass Liam Neeson is attached to play the lead.
Neeson will play a doctor who goes to Berlin for a medical conference and gets into a car accident. When he awakens from a coma, he discovers that his wife doesn’t recognize him — and she’s living with another man who has assumed his identity.
Cue “Twilight Zone” theme… This will be Collet-Serra’s third collaboration with Joel Silver’s production company, after ORPHAN and HOUSE OF WAX (which I do like).
Production starts in January.
HOUSE OF WAX star Elisha Cuthbert
