There hasn’t been a really fresh disaster movie for as long as I can remember, unless you count CLOVERFIELD. But I’m talking natural disasters, no monsters allowed type thing. If there’s anyone that’s going to re-invigorate the genre, it’s gotta be bombastic director Roland Emmerich, who seems to have made a career out of destroying cities in films like INDEPENDENCE DAY, GODZILLA and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. His next film–2012, about the end of the world, looks all kinds of awesome, and well, this new poster kind of says it all. 2012 pulverizes theatres on November 13th, 2009.
