This week's Blu-ray releases have an offer you won't be able to refuse. That's right, Godfather fans, Mario Puzo's The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone is home in time for the holidays. This release presents a new version of Francis Ford Coppola and screenwriter Mario Puzo’s original vision for the Godfather finale, which has been meticulously restored for the finest presentation of the Corleone saga’s last chapter. The film follows Michael Corleone, now in his 60s, as he seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire.

If you're like me in that the Godfather films really aren't your cup of tea, you might be interested to know that Brandon Cronenberg's Possessor is out on Blu-ray this week as well. Starring Andrea Riseborough, Christopher Abbott, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, Possessor follows an agent who works for a secretive organization that uses brain-implant technology to inhabit other people's bodies – ultimately driving them to commit assassinations for high-paying clients. Full disclosure here, folks. I've heard this movie is really messed up, and I am all about it. In fact, as soon as this article is posted, I'm going to secure myself a copy of this film for myself and watch it this coming weekend.

Another highlight that's hitting Blu-ray shelves this week is Smiley Face Killer, a horror-thriller directed by Tim Hunter and written by Bret Easton Ellis that tells of a handsome young soccer player named Jake Graham who believes he is going insane and is unable to shake the feeling of being stalked by something, by someone. Dun dun dunnn!

If 4K Blu-rays are more to your liking you should know that the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic Total Recall arrives on the fancy format this week as does John Carpenter's They Live. Both have been restored for a gorgeous 4K presentation that will have you screening either film like you never have before.
