We’re getting closer and closer to the release of Top Gun: Maverick and now Paramount Pictures has released new character posters that reintroduce us to Tom Cruise’s titular character along with a new team of flyers.

The character posters were released on the film’s official Twitter page and they include Miles Teller’s Rooster, Jon Hamm’s Cyclone, Glen Powell’s Hangman, and many more. You can check out the new character posters below!

Per the film’s official synopsis, “After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.” The film also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer.

Believe it or not, Top Gun: Maverick was originally slated for release on July 12, 2019, but that date was delayed to “allow the production to work out all the complex fight sequences.” The film was then moved to June 26, 2020, and then bumped up two days to June 24, 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-10 pandemic, the film was delayed again until December 23, 2020. That release date seemed like a lock but Paramount Pictures moved the film again to July 2, 2021, partially due to scheduling conflicts with Tom Cruise, as well as the rise of more COVID-19 cases. The film shifted dates again to November 19, 2021, but it was delayed one more time to its current date of May 27, 2022.
