New Clip from Ang Lee’s Life of Pi features stunning visuals and a tiger

Ang Lee’s LIFE OF PI is set to open next month and already it’s generating buzz as “the next AVATAR” in terms of visually stunning special effects.  I guess you could have a worse comparison.  In this new clip from the film, the titular star is writing a “message in a bottle” describing his plight just before coming face-to-face with his companion/adversary, a Bengal tiger.  Obviously, the visuals are the big show here and this looks to be a hell of a feast for the eyes.

Take a look:

Our own review for the film is overwhelmingly positive and it certainly looks to be trending that way.  Having read the book many years ago I always envisioned it as a movie, although at the time it felt like there was almost no way to adapt it.  Fortunately, the effects realm has advanced to a point where, when done exceptionally, the lines of reality and effects are blurred.

LIFE OF PI, starring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Rafe Spall, and Gerard Depardieu is set to sail into theaters on November 21, 2012. in IMAX and 3D.
