Entertainment Weekly has released the cover for the latest issue of their magazine, giving us a fresh look at Angelina Jolie as the title character in Disney's MALEFICENT. EW also has a new image from the upcoming film, featuring Maleficent glaring at a small child. Jolie, as always, looks stunning, and she's a big reason why some people are very excited for MALEFICENT.

Take a look:

Synopsis:

"MALEFICENT is the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal – an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom – and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well."

I wasn't that impressed with the first trailer for MALEFICENT, however I thought the second trailer (see below) was much better. Angelina Jolie should do an excellent job playing the villain, and visually the film will probably be a treat for the eyes. There are some other huge movies out this May (THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, GODZILLA, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST), and I'm curious to see if MALEFICENT will be a big hit at the box office.

MALEFICENT also stars Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Brenton Twaites, and Juno Temple, and will open on May 30th, 2014.
