What, you think we hired him for his face? It’s those biceps of course!
Yesterday, we got our first look at FASTER, the revenge flick that’s gotten The Rock back in action mode at long last. 100% of you were all for the trailer, mainly for that reason alone, as The Rock shooting guns and punching people is like 50% of the way to a good action movie already. What’s that about DOOM? Uhh I can’t hear you.
In all seriousness though, I think it might have been DOOM that scared The Rock away from action for awhile. When you look back at his film catalog, it’s the only non-comedy action movie he’s been in since 2005, and as much as that movie and his performance in it got torn apart pretty harshly. I think he just got sick of the whole genre.
But now his latest three projects are FASTER, FAST FIVE and PROTECTION, all straight-up action flicks. I guess a switch must have been flipped in his head after a five year hiatus, and I’m happy to welcome him back.
