Now, I know Heath Ledger's performance in THE DARK KNIGHT was masterful and honestly, I believe it can never be topped. With that said, I also believe that Phoenix brought his A-game to this origin story of the clown prince that may at least measure up to the work of art that Ledger created. Also, don't underestimate the wildly creative prowess possessed by Todd Phillips. The dude definitely has the chops to bring this darkly comic character to screaming life! So hell yes, I'm excited to catch JOKER when it opens on October 4, 2019.
