New Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom poster includes a victorious T-rex

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It won't be long now before the latest chapter of the Jurassic Park franchise, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, stomps into theaters. Along with the release of the film, you can expect all manner of promotional materials to swarm around your wallet like an eager pack of velociraptors, looking to nip at your hard-earned dollars while tempting you with cool movie-related tie-in products.

Today, Universal Pictures has unveiled a new poster for the film featuring a victorious tyrannosaurus rex standing atop a fallen foe as an angry volcano belches fire and brimstone up into the air. It's the kind of basass dino-realted imagery that any fan of the series would be proud to hang in their home, amidst the many Pop! figures and limited edition collectibles that I'm sure will be there to keep it company.

You can see the poster for yourself below:

Here’s the official synopsis for JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Directed by J. A. Bayona, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, James Cromwell, Jeff Goldblum and B. D. Wong.

In related news, another installment of the JURASSIC WORLD series is already said to be in the works, which may or may not see JURASSIC WORLD actor Laura Dern returning to her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler. We can only hope, right? After all, the series could always use another … clever girl.

Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week and be sure to tip your waitress.

JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM will open in theaters beginning on June 7th.
