These LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys reveal new characters

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

If there is one thing better than STAR WARS, it is LEGO STAR WARS. Since becoming officially licensed partners in 1999, some of the best products related to George Lucas' saga have been built out of bricks. It should come as no surprise that STAR WAS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will bring an awesome slate of LEGO merchandise tied into the film. Like DC and Marvel properties linked to LEGO, the box art for the construction toys also have the potential to reveal spoilers or other information about the films.

LEGO fan site From Bricks to Bothans has shared covers for two new sets and both shed some mild details about STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS that appear to be brand new.

First up is the new X-Wing set. As you can see in the image, the craft is orange and black and belongs to Oscar Isaac's character, Poe Dameron. The set comes with four minifigures that include Poe, new droid BB-8, and a pair of Resistance fighters. The Resistance is the new name for what we knew as the Rebel Alliance and the pilots appear to be both male and female.

For the new Millennium Falcon set, you can see the slight redesign of the ship includes the new square satellite dish. The mini-figures include Han Solo, Chewbacca, Finn, Rey, another BB-8, and a pair of new characters: Tasu Leech and a Kanjiklub Gang Member. Who Tasu Leech is and what the Kanjiklub Gang does to factor into the film are unknown, but they may have to do with the planet Jakku which is where we see the Millennium Falcon flying in the trailer. It also appears that BB-8 will journey from Jakku to become Poe's X-Wing droid, or the LEGO manufacturers didn't know what else to add to the set.

Whatever the case, I want these toys and I want them now. This will be the first STAR WARS film I will get to experience with my kids and I already know I am going to be ecstatic right along side them as each new product is revealed for the film.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS hits theaters on December 18th.
