New Moon fast tracked

Even though I have not seen TWILIGHT, I reserve the right to call it a piece of garbage. (Although our own Arrow sure didn’t hate it.) I don’t like mumbling young actors, I don’t like sappy romance, and I don’t like pasty vampires. So its to my chagrin that I’ll be writing about the sequel(s) for years to come – assuming I haven’t won the lottery or been murdered before the first follow-up, NEW MOON, comes out.

Those lucky dogs at Bloody Disgusting got the scoop that the screenplay for NEW MOON has already been written, meaning the movie is on an even faster track than we possibly could have imagined. (Production is slated to begin in March!) Of course, there’s no director attached to it at the moment, but if we believe the rumors we heard yesterday, Chris Weitz will be calling the shots if he accepts Summit’s offer.

Apparently the sequel deals with brooding werewolves as well as vampires. My god, werewolves and vampires in the same story?! Edgy!

Finally, Entertainment Weekly says NEW MOON is slated to hit theaters NOVEMBER 20, 2009. That’s right – 2009.

Kristen Stewart is soon to be a busy girl
