New Paranormal Activity movie to star Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, & more

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Six years after the release of the last Paranormal Activity movie, Paramount and Blumhouse are now moving forward on a new installment in the franchise. Set to be directed by Will Eubank, who recently directed Underwater (watch it HERE), from a screenplay by franchise regular Christopher Landon, the new Paranormal Activity is said to be an "unexpected retooling" of the franchise, although it will be sticking with the found footage style.

With the start of production drawing near, The Wrap has learned that the lead cast of the film will consist of Emily Bader (Anonymous Killers), Roland Buck III (Chicago Med), Dan Lippert (Son of Zorn), and Henry Ayres-Brown (Monsterland).

Landon has said,

I'm really excited for this — mainly because no one could possibly guess what new, crazy nightmares Will Eubank and I are cooking up. Expect the unexpected.

Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli is producing the film with Blumhouse founder Jason Blum. Landon is executive producing alongside Steven Schneider.

This "retooling" was originally scheduled to reach theatres in March of next year, but Paramount has since decided that it's going to be released through the Paramount Plus streaming service. The streaming release date has not yet been announced.
