New photo released for Wonder Woman film

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Say what you will about BATMAN V SUPERMAN (and go ahead, it has like a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes, you can't really say anything that hasn't been said already), but Wonder Woman was definitely the highlight. She was strong, badass, and her costume looked great on screen. The question now is, not so much can Wonder Woman headline her own feature film (as anyone who's read Brian Azzarello's take on the character can attest to, she most certainly can), but can DC/WB pull it off? I mean, BATMAN V SUPERMAN seemed like a sure thing at the time as well…

Anyway, to whet our appetites, WB has sent a new photo from WONDER WOMAN featuring Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess and Chris Pine as her mansel-in-distress Steve Trevor. It also features other cast members, all who were seen in that photo on Lex's hard drive in BvS. Let's have a look:

Not much to analyze here, other than the fact it seems Wonder Woman will have her own WWI version of the Howling Commandos that Captain America palled around with in FIRST AVENGER (which seems like a mistake to add more allusions to that other superhero period piece). As someone who isn't super well-versed in comic lore, I don't know if these are popular characters in the canon, or made up for the movie. Either way, it seems that Wonder Woman won't be superhero-ing alone.

So what do you guys think? Excited for the new WONDER WOMAN movie? Sound off below!

WONDER WOMAN will fly her invisible jet to theaters June 2nd, 2017.
