New photos from John Wick: Chapter 3 offer up new details about the film

Keanu Reeves will soon be back to hand out head-shots like candy in JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3, and Entertainment Weekly have gotten their hands on a pair of new photos from the upcoming sequel, as well as a few new details on what we can expect. Let's check out the photos first, which show Wick meeting up with Sofia (Halle Berry), along with her two dogs, in the Middle East, as well as Wick looking menacing as the rain pours down around him.

As far as details go, well, they're short and sweet. Keanu Reeves says that "The third chapter is literally connected to 2 and starts with John Wick on the run. It goes crazy from there." That craziness leads him to the Middle East where he hopes to get help from Sofia (Berry), a character who just so happens to have a past with John. She also has two Belgian Malinois dogs, which director Chad Stahelski says are "symbolic of someone she's lost."

Halle Berry's character won't be the only one with a link to Wick's past, as Anjelica Huston will be playing "someone who was responsible for [Wick’s] upbringing and his protection," making the sequel a "little bit of an origin story." Although the film has previously been teased as the conclusion of John Wick's story, Chad Stahelski told EW that he'd happily make a fourth one provided audiences enjoy this one. That's probably a safe bet.

The official synopsis for JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 will hit theaters on May 17, 2019.
