Two hotly anticipated summer movies – Jon Favreau’s COWBOYS & ALIENS and J.J. Abrams’ SUPER 8 – each have a new photo to mull over, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. Which of the two films are you looking forward to seeing most?
In the first photo, check out Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford brushing with danger in COWBOYS & ALIENS. In the new SUPER 8 photo, the 80s Amblin iconography is on display, what with a trio of dirt encrusted child faces looking up to the sky in relative amazement. Are they locking eyes with a parade of descending aliens, a mysterious spacecraft, what?
Coming at us June 8th, SUPER 8 is set in the summer of 1979, where a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka (below), Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich and Gabriel Basso all take part.
In theaters July 29th – COWBOYS & ALIENS revolves around a spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. A posse of cowboys are all that stand in their way.
Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde (below), Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer, Keith Carradine, Clancy Brown, Ana de la Reguera, Abigail Spencer and Adam Beach all star in the film.
