Not to be outdone by the “big” superhero films, KICK-ASS 2 has a few new peeks for us, courtesy of Empire, showing off stars Chloe Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Jim Carrey, all dolled-up and ready for crime-fightin’. The sequel to Mark Millar‘s hyperviolent comic is directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Lyndsy Fonseca, Clark Duke, Morris Chestnut, Lindy Booth, and Yancy Butler (with a possible cameo of Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy) and continues the tale of our hero, Kick-Ass (Taylor-Johnson) as he finds the city overrun with new costumed heroes and villains who seemingly go to war with one another.
If you’ve read the comic, then you know the story definitely goes to some dark places and it leaves me wondering just how much of that will translate to the big screen. Overall, though, based on the images we’ve seen and the positive remarks from Millar and Wadlow on the production, I’ve got a good feeling about this one and dare say it has the potential to top the first one.
