New poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debut; new trailer teases

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Well, it's finally here. Okay, it's not the trailer you were looking for, but it's a start. The new poster for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS has arrived and it's pretty cool, although I'm not sure this is the one I'd choose to hang in my room, as I'm positive we'll see a ton more to follow. The biggest reveals from the poster are our first official peak at Princess Leia (if she still goes by that) played once again by Carrie Fisher and what appears to be an all-new Death Star of some sort. Very interesting indeed. Luke Skywalker is still absent, even though J.J. Abrams has said he was lured to direct the film with the phrase "Who is Luke Skywalker?" Guess we'll still continue to wait to get any hint of that answer.

"The dark side…and the light…"

Now, let's get down to that trailer business, because that's what we're all really waiting for, am I right? Here's the official lowdown, so mark your calendars:

The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT.

In addition, you can buy your advance tickets directly after the trailer launch wherever movie tickets are sold. Man, is it a good time to be a STAR WARS fan or what?

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow, hits theaters everywhere on December 18th.
