Now that the HUNGER GAMES franchise is ending with a bang this weekend, the next YA adaptation needs to step up to the plate. THE 5TH WAVE, based on Rick Yancy's alien invasion novel of the same name, desperately wants to be that movie. They've debuted a brand new poster straight from the DIVERGENT hall of bland, generic fame.
This poster isn't selling me on anything, but if our next huge YA flick has aliens hellbent on destroying the world, it at least has to be better than THE MAZE RUNNER, right? Check it out below!

In this tense thriller, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, 16-year-old Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie meets a young man who may become her final hope.
Moretz and Nick Robinson as Cassie and her brother will be joined by the ass-kicking Maika Monroe and Alex Roe (as the mysterious young man who we totally care about).
