It has been a little over a year since we last heard from THE CULLING, an indie horror film from director Rustam Branaman. The wait has been worth it for the film, however, as news comes in that it has been picked up by Highland Film Group, which will prepare it for worldwide sales at the Berlin International Film Festival.

A new poster for the film has appeared on its production company’s official site; you can see it in full below.

Financed by
Silver Lining Media Group in conjunction with Gold Star Films and Dro Entertainment, the film stars Jeremy Sumpter, Elizabeth Di Prinzio (pictured right), Brett Davern, Linsey Godfrey, Chris Coy and Harley Graham with Virginia Williams and Johnathon Schaech.

THE CULLING centers on a group of five college friends who head out of town for a fun-filled long weekend, but their plans change after they find a 7-year-old girl alone at an empty cafe along the highway and have no choice but to drive her home. When they arrive at her house, it’s quickly apparent they will have to stay for the night — but what’s not apparent is the evil nightmare they are about to encounter.

We’ll keep you in the loop as THE CULLING (hopefully) gets some distribution news.
