UPDATED: Now includes a high resolution version of the ELYSIUM poster!

Posters are popping up faster and faster as we approach the summer movie season. Today we get two character posters for THE LONE RANGER and a low resolution look at the teaser poster for Neill Blomkamp‘s ELYSIUM.

First up are new looks at Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp in THE LONE RANGER. Gore Verbinski‘s film looks like a fun movie to enjoy right at the hottest part of the summer months, even if that means it will be a cheesy escapist adventure. The first poster featured Tonto’s mask and Johnny Depp‘s eyes and didn’t do much for Hammer in the lead role. These posters give each of the actors their due and come a cross as gritty and serious. I have a feeling the movie is going to be more fun than these posters attest, but either way they are pretty cool.

THE LONE RANGER opens everywhere on July 3, 2013.

Next we have a glimpse at the poster for ELYSIUM. The poster has been spotted at advanced screenings for the film and should start popping up in theaters officially very soon. The poster gives us no more information that we already had; we don’t even see Matt Damon‘s face, just his back and the electronic enhancements his character will sport in the movie. Blomkamp has somehow found a way to make his movies look simultaneously high and low tech. The future looked dirty and makeshift in DISTRICT 9 and ELYSIUM looks to follow suit. Check it out below.

ELYSIUM opens in theaters on August 9, 2013.
