New red-band clip from Elysium and watch Matt Damon ask a girl out for dinner

Elysium

A couple of new clips for you this morning from ELYSIUM. Neill Blomkamp's highly anticipated follow-up to DISTRICT 9 is out in a couple of days, and it's going to be interesting to see how well it plays in theaters. Internet buzz has been strong but that's never a guarantee (PACIFIC RIM anyone?), and the sci-fi film will be competing with three other new releases for eyeballs this weekend.

The first new clip is a red-band one focusing on Sharlto Copley's Kruger, and it shows off one of the unconventional futuristic weapons he uses in the film. The second has Matt Damon pre-exoskeleton asking Alice Braga out for dinner. I really hope towards the end of the movie there's a scene with Damon holding up Braga's phone number in Sharlto Copley's face yelling, "How do you like these apples?" right before Damon punches him in the face. That would be excellent. If you haven't already, check out Chris Bumbray's review for ELYSIUM here.

ELYSIUM also stars Jodie Foster, William Fichtner and Diego Luna, and is in theaters this Friday.
