New Silent Hill game coming from Guillermo del Toro & Hideo Kojima

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The classic horror videogame series "Silent Hill" is back in a big way.

Yesterday an interactive teaser went live on the Playstation Store that revealed "Metal Gear Solid" creator Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro have teamed to bring gamers a new vision of terror with "Silent Hills". Yes, 'Hills' with an 's'. And equally as cool, they've also revealed that "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus will star in the game. I'm not even a gamer and my mind is blown. Guillermo del Toro! Norman Reedus! That's just too cool.

The lead up to this announcement was pretty clever. An allegedly terrifying demo called "P.T." was announced and released yesterday during Sony's Gamescom conference, and people flocked to the PS Store to download it. Thinking they were getting a demo for a new horror series, people we shocked to learn that this was more than just a demo…it was a teaser for a much bigger surprise. The video showed a man on a darkened street before revealing the the names of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The looks at the camera, revealing Norman Reedus as the character, and then the "Silent Hill" logo appears before an extra letter 's' fades in at the end of the word 'Hill'.

So how does a new "Silent Hill" game sound to you, now? With del Toro, Kojima, and Reedus involved, this could certainly be one of the scariest (and most fun) games to come along in quite some time. We don't know much at the moment, nor do we know when to expect the game to hit, but we'll keep you posted. Hit us with your thoughts on "Silent Hills" below.
