Gru and crew are back! Today, we have a new trailer for DESPICABLE ME 2, which brings back Steve Carrell as the not-so-villainous lead who is constantly conflicted with his evil intentions, especially with three daughters and an army of yellow, pill-shaped minions (who will be getting their own feature next) in tow who constantly appeal to his better side.  The second adventure brings in a host of new co-stars, including Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, and Al Pacino

I enjoyed the first one for the most part and would happily partake in a sequel, especially after suffering through ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH recently.  Say what you will about the goofiness of it all, but the first film was leagues beyond a lot of the kids shlock we have to endure on a regular basis.

Take a look:

This looks like a decent follow up and something I could take my kid to and not feel like opening a vein halfway through.  For parents that can be a hell of a win.  Plus, as simple and generic as they may be, those damn minions are f*cking adorable.  I’d be happy to have one clean my house and wash my car and…okay, maybe I just need a maid service.  But still.  F*cking adorable.

DESPICABLE ME 2 hits theaters on July 3, 2013.
