A new trailer has risen for Sony’s cheeky PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, and it can be found below. Oddly enough, this preview eschews the tongue-in-cheek tone of the UK teaser in favor of something closer in spirit to a YA thriller. They don’t expect us to actually take this thing seriously, do they? Still, the movie looks like a fun and unique time; let’s hope the long (long) wait has been worth it.

Directed by Burr Steers and starring Ellie Bamber, Bella Heathcote, Lily James, Millie Brady, Suki Waterhouse, Jack Huston, Matt Smith, Sam Riley and Lena Headey, P&P&Z

…opens as a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton – and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES opens in February of 2016.
